It is designed to promote affordable and trustworthy organic certification for small and marginal farmers through community participation and peer reviews. The scheme is managed by the National Centre of Organic and Natural Farming (NCONF) and is legally recognized under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 for domestic organic labelling.
